The Effect...
A photo is loaded onto the spectator's phone - this will be revealed at the end.
You explain that we are going to play an imaginary game of chance. Firstly, imagine having a dice. The spectator rolls the dice in their mind, and randomly selects the face up result - lets say it's a 6. Then, they shuffle an imaginary deck of cards and spread them face down on a table - and then turn over one card - let's say they pick the 3 of Hearts. Finally, you explain that on your phone is a list of a hundred different combinations of money and poker chips. The spectator chooses a random number between 1 and 100 - they are handed your phone and asked to look down the list for the combination at their random number.... Let's say they choose 27 - on the list, the 27th item on the list is read out - £110 and 4 poker chips....
